Vitropixel mosaics are created by combining craftsmanship with new technology, using an exquisite material, namely Bohemian glass.
Vitropixel has developed a unique system that puts a sophisticated twist on classic mosaics. Small cubic pieces of Bohemian glass are fitted like pixels in a digital image, faithfully reproducing any picture in a mosaic with as-yet unseen accuracy and resolution.
A new form of artistic expression.
Each piece of Bohemian glass is approximately 5×5 mm, using as many colours as necessary.
The entire mass of each piece is coloured, not just on the surface. This means that the colour will remain unaltered for many years, regardless of lighting, temperature and humidity conditions.
Once each part has been fitted in place, they are all stuck to the support by means of a resin infusion process.
Internationally renowned refinement.
Bohemian glass is the name given to glass manufactured in the regions of Bohemia and Silesia, belonging to the Czech Republic and Poland. It dates back to the late 16th century when this exceptional glass was first produced although it was not until the Baroque period that its fame spread throughout the world.
Currently, Bohemian glass refinement and perfect finish have made it the epitome of good taste.
A quest for new sensations led to an amazing visual experience.
Up close to the Vitropixel mosaic, you can appreciate each Bohemian glass pixel. Far away, it gives a realistic picture, as clear as a high-resolution photograph.
Its unique display effect makes us rethink the whole idea of classic mosaics, through this visual experience created by Bohemian glass in pixel form.
